Logistics in networks like WCA, JCtrans, GLA, AFN is an often a hunting ground for the lowest-fee, best-specification deals amongst freight forwarders. There is occasional real friendship beyond what deal is possible right now, and definitely less collaborative on a long-term basis. In LO chapters, we believe in mid to long term arrangements where we understand that we are always each other’s preferred partners and there will be a joint belief of “give first, receive later” philosophy.

Discussions in the meeting include which shippers and liners are preferred for certain geographical locations during crisis situations, as well as which agents outside the chapter are preferred for reliability and speed, shared technical details on how to execution various transportation.

Beyond logistician referrals, we can expect the Marketing chapters (Communication Business Group) to provide introductions to logistical needs from product launches arising from cross-border marketing activities.
